The future is up to the next generation – I’ve done my bit

I am 77 years old, with a great future behind me.
My apologies to the younger generation for the condition of the world today.
I tried my best, and I’ve tried to make the world better than I found it in 1946.
I haven’t reached the end yet, but I can’t do much more to help you.

It’s up to you.

It seems our politicians are hanging in there, milking the country for whatever they can get.
What’s happening in our metros just beggars belief.
The foxes seem to be in charge of the henhouse.
And there’s not a lot that we mere “citizens” can do about it.
Except to vote in 2024, and hope we get a better government.

For Good News stories, I subscribe to The Good Things Guy and SA The Good News.

I believe in the future of this beautiful country, South Africa.
Hopefully, I will live long enough to see all the changes.

I shall continue to do what I can, where I am, with what I’ve got.
It may not be much, but I’ll do my best.
With a little help from my friends.
Because I still enjoy what I do.

And that is all I can ask of anybody. Good luck.
