Robert Sobukwe was one of the great thinkers and leaders of the struggle for democracy and freedom in South Africa.
A humble man of academic bent, Robert Sobukwe ended up founding the Pan-Africanist Congress and was sentenced to solitary confinement on Robben Island.
The story of Robert Sobukwe is both sad and inspiring, but without him, we would be living in a very different world.
Blind History – Gareth Cliff & Anthony Mederer
Blind History is a crash course in getting to know history’s greatest men and women – and by great, we don’t always mean good. In this series, hosted by Gareth Cliff and Anthony Mederer, we will tell you the stuff the history books sometimes leave out – the sordid stories, the less well-known details, some of the stuff they didn’t teach you at school. Each person will help you put a piece of the puzzle in place, and bring history to life.
Brought to you by Taylor Blinds & Shutters.
Thank you Gareth and Anthony. You are opening our eyes to events from our history.
Stuff we never knew growing up. Keep it up and all the best going forward.
I would also suggest that anyone who is interested in what is really happening in South Africa (and the world), subscribes to your Weekly Newsletter. I look forward to it every week. Keep it up.
Shared with grateful thanks and very best wishes,
